The Embroidered Garden...

First I'd like to apologise for my absence, I really cant believe I haven't blogged in 10days, I even missed Fridays Fancies! However, a lot of my time has been given to the above... This is a my response to a week of fashion and textiles at college. We had to respond with the theme of environments, so I chose the natural floral environment, like I did for 3D week, which you can see here. It took me around 25hours to do the 3 rings, and let me tell you I never want to see a needle and thread again in my life! But I'm really pleased with how they turned out, and look forward to hanging them on my bedroom wall.

Do you like doing embroidery?

The Secret Garden...

I feel so guilty for not blogging enough but I really haven't had the time. I leave in the morning for college when its dark and return to darkness too, with lots of work!

But I must say, I've been really enjoying my art course. This is my most recent piece. Our brief was on the "3D environment", so i chose the natural environment and I researched into secret gardens. I created a piece of fused glass, which is supposed to be the wild flower garden and then placed it in this box, with the keyhole on the front. Its quite clever as you must look through the keyhole in order to see the garden, but it appears quite distorted and blurred in patches. Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture of the inside glass but I hope you like what you see here...

Friday's Fancies #31

dress ~ shoes ~ ring
I'm in love with this Jack Wills 1920's dress. The soft pale blue looks so stunning with the silver beads and black sash, I think that pairing this dress with too many accessories would distract from the detail, and so I only wanted a pair of black Jimmy Choo pumps and an Alexander McQueen ring.

What do you think?

Picture of the week: Neighbours

Just my favourite picture of the week, these two colours lend themselves perfectly to each other. I wonder what the whole of the street looks like.

Bonfire night tomorrow, so I had to create a warm cosy outfit to watch the fireworks in! I love colourful tights and ankle boots at the minute, and I so want this Henley top from jack wills! Have you got any plans for tomorrow? For more of this weeks Friday's Fancies have a look here!

Portobello Road, London

Hmmm Portobello Road, I will live here someday, hopefully in the purple house with the ivy running up it. This whole street was so perfect, each house was painted such a tasteful colour. When can I move in?
