I don't know what's going on with the weather but its been incredibly hot the past few days! So, I thought I'd better leave out a woolly jumper and tights. I could definitely see myself wearing this outfit, today in the hot heat and in the winter with think tights, boots and a woolly cardigan. I'm off to the beach today, that sounds a little bit strange as its the last day of September, but I want to make the most of this amazing weather!

Apologies, for last week as I missed doing picture of the week, I've been so busy with my college stuff, that I hardly have time to blog! What has the world come to?? Isn't this picture so whimsical? I love the idea of sitting in a little basket in a hot air balloon, I wonder if it would actually work? Oh, and if you look really closely there's a horse in the second balloon!

Friday's fancies #24

My 24th link up to Long Distance Loving's Friday's Fancies and this weeks theme was "the cozy side of Autumn!". Probably the best thing about these winter months is that you can spend all day on a Sunday snuggerling up in your PJ's, with a big cup of tea and a film! And what better to do that in, than Jack Wills pull ons and a Cashmere jumper from Boden!

Free Needle Embroidery

So I thought I should show you all some of the work that I've been doing at college. I was inspired by a rather amazing artist called Claire Heathcote to produce these samples. The first two I did by just hand sewing into paper, which took so long! But the rest I did on the sewing machine with a free needle, which I really enjoyed. It was a much quicker process, however it took me quite a while to get the hang of it. But I'm really pleased with my result!

Blackberry Cupcakes

Today, my sister Alice and I went on a walk to pick lots of blackberries that are growing all in the hedgerows around where we live. And with the blackberries we baked some very yummy cupcakes! They looked rather incredible too, as the blackberries had dyed the cake mix purple! They were very simple to make, just a normal cake recipe with 3 handfuls of fresh blackberries thrown in and the same for the frosting.

Some Like it Hot...

This is my latest creation...I was commissioned by my godmother Louise to paint a "Hot coloured" floral scape. Which she is going to hang above her swimming pool! I had much fun doing this painting and although you can't tell by this photograph it really shimmers in the light!

Woolly Jumper Weather

Sorry for the my absence over the last two days, as you know I've just started college and let me tell you its pretty tiring! Its also really strange to be back in education after several lovely weeks of doing what I like over the summer holiday. I hope the course will get more exciting soon, because we're just doing lots of observational line drawings, which isn't quite my thing.

Salar ♥

You may remember my new puppy Salar, from my Fridays Fancies I did a few weeks ago here. Here he is again, but much bigger! Today we took him for his first walk on the beach, which he loved! Especially eating all the crunchy shells and swimming in the rock pools! (just to let you know, you pronounce Salar as Sar-ler)

Today I begin my two years at college! And this weeks Friday's Fancies link up to long distance loving, is based on my "college style". I could definitely picture myself, paintbrush in hand sporting this outfit at college. In fact I even have the rucksack, which I can't wait to use today!

Its now September, and lets hope its a good one! I start college tomorrow, and I'm so nervous. None of my friends are doing the same course as me, so I'll have to really try and be extra friendlily to everyone, which is going to be quite hard for me as I'm actually really shy!
